Who we are & our proposition

One Firm. Two Work Streams. No Gaps.

HydroDelft is an integrated engineering and ESG consultancy for energy and infrastructure. Most projects require both rigorous engineering and credible environmental and social governance. Most firms deliver one and subcontract the other. We integrate both, which means no conflicting advice, no handoff risk and one point of accountability. We deliver to IFC Performance Standards and Equator Principles, with a proven track record across UNDP, World Bank, IFC and leading private developers.

How we work

One Team, Feasibility To Financial Close

Three stages, one accountable team. Engineering and ESG move together at every step, so nothing is bolted on afterwards and nothing falls through the gaps.

01

Feasibility

Hydrology, resource assessment and bankable feasibility, aligned to IFC and lender requirements from day one.

02

Design

Civil, electromechanical and structural design, with the ESIA developed in parallel, not after.

03

Delivery

Owner's Engineer, quality assurance and safeguards oversight through construction to financial close.

Our disciplines

What We Do

Eight integrated disciplines, delivered by senior practitioners under one roof, from first feasibility through to financial close and operations.

Dams & Hydropower

Water to wire. Comprehensive hydropower consultancy from micro to large scale, covering feasibility, design, delivery and commissioning.

Renewables · Solar & Wind

From concept to connection. Ground mounted solar, rooftop solar and wind projects, from identification through to grid connection and financial close.

ESG · Environmental & Social

The expertise that makes projects financeable. ESIA delivered to IFC Performance Standards and Equator Principles, in parallel with engineering.

Geology & Geotechnical

Know the ground before you build. Site investigation, rock and soil mechanics, slope stability, foundations and tunnelling for safe structures.

Digital Services & GIS

Accurate spatial data for better decisions. GIS, remote sensing and GPS field survey supporting every project from screening to construction.

Drawing Solutions · 2D & 3D

From concept sketch to buildable model. Precise 2D technical drawings and accurate 3D models across civil, electrical and mechanical.

Climate Change & Coastal

Resilient by design. Climate science, flood risk analysis and coastal engineering to design for the conditions to come, not just today.

Flood Assessment & Hydrology

Understand the water, manage the risk. Catchment hydrology, 1D and 2D flood modelling and design flood estimation for water and infrastructure.

Why HydroDelft

Leading The Way With Purpose And Rigour

Our approach is built to get projects funded, built and kept running. Four commitments define how we work with every client.

One point of accountability

Engineering and ESG under one roof. One team owns the full outcome, with no handoffs and no conflicting advice between separate firms.

Lender-ready deliverables

Outputs structured to IFC Performance Standards and Equator Principles from day one, with no retrospective gap-filling for DFI or lender requirements.

HydroDelft engineers on site

Senior capacity on every project

Senior practitioners lead and deliver every engagement, not junior staff managed remotely. Our leads bring 20+ years of hands-on delivery.

Global reach, local knowledge

Five offices in Delft, Melbourne, Nairobi, Lusaka and Colombo, backed by a global advisory panel with deep in-country knowledge.

Showcasing our impactful projects

Delivering Across Africa, Asia & Europe

A growing portfolio spanning hydropower feasibility, utility-scale solar, off-grid rural electrification and civil infrastructure.

Hydropower turbine assembly

Hydropower feasibility pipeline across Kenya, Malawi and Zambia, alongside a 30 MWp utility-scale solar pipeline in Sri Lanka and 740 kW of hybrid rural electrification in Zambia.

41+ MW
